Places to Go
There aren’t many North Carolina destinations that are as popular or offer as spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains as Grandfather Mountain. Travel along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway to Grandfather Mountain, one of the highest North Carolina peaks. Dare to venture out onto the mile high swinging bridge or challenge yourself on one of the 11 scenic trails. You will be completely surrounded by the multitude of stunning mountain views.
Linville Falls is one of the most photographed waterfalls in North Carolina, and it’s easy to see why! You can hike to five different viewpoints on two trails that leave from the Visitors Center. One of the trails is certainly more strenuous than the other, but you can hike to all five spectacular viewpoints with just a four mile hike.

First Friday Art Crawl
Every first Friday from 6-8:30pm during February-December you have the opportunity to shop, mingle and meet local artists at downtown shops and galleries in Boone. Sunday Concert in the Park
Following Art in the Park on Sundays from May through September, bring a chair or blanket and enjoy free entertainment at the gazebo in Memorial Park in neighboring Blowing Rock. The American Legion Hall is the backup venue in case of inclement weather. Concerts are set to begin at 4:00pm each date.
King Street Market
From now through October 17, 2017, Boone's newest weekday farmer's market, King Street Market, offers fresh produce, eggs, meats, goat cheese, baked goods and value added foods from local farms, many of which you won't see anywhere else in Watauga County. There's music, special events, and food trucks, too! Stop by for an exciting time and pick up some fresh ingredients to prepare a delicious meal inside your fully equipped Boone, NC cabin rentals.

Boone, NC is a great place to visit year round, no matter your reason for the mountain escape! There are so many things to enjoy including the rich history of this area, luxurious cabins, and of course incredible mountain views. We recommend planning your excursions ahead of time, especially during peak times. Fall is arguably the most desirable time to visit this region.
